Aukena
This is an island of the Gambier archipelago. It is opposite Riketea. Unlike Riketea, there is no village. 
There are houses for the workers grafting pearls for the pearl farm. 
We went for a hike up another steep hill to beautiful views of the archipelago. Downhill was definitely quicker than uphill. The views were worth it as was the swim on the beach. It was a tropical paradise with entertainment and a fabulous barbecue prepared by the Aranui crew.
