I found a library today and you know me and books. This is a private library that was created for everyone to use . When her husband died, Mrs Ryland decided to create a library in the industrial area. Her library is beautiful. It has stained glass and soaring, carved ceilings. Visitors could come and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and sit in peace to read. This is still possible on the same furniture as was installed in 1922.

Impressive isn’t it. Exhibitions are held here. At present,it is the Peterloo massacre where many people were killed, or injured during a demonstration for the right to vote.

More streetscapes on our way to Marks and sparks for retail therapy. I bought a shirt….on sale of course.

Like football?

Rain coming. A quick run to the Cathedral. It has a peaceful air and is still used everyday by the locals.

I love open spaces so we checked out both the Cathedral and Piccadilly gardens between the rain. Do you think they need to look up the definition of garden?

noun:
a piece of ground adjoining a house, in which grass, flowers, and shrubs may be grown.
This artwork is amazing. It is on display in the Corn Exchange along with other artworks. The Corn Exchange was where produce was sold. There are 1500 photos of people taken by 30 photographers on one day in 2017. The public then voted who the collage should be and it was the suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst.
We are going to see the city by the canals tomorrow so fingers crossed for sunshine and clear skies.
