A train trip you say…….yes one that takes 10-11 hours so a slow trip to Puno.
Impressive isn’t it. Wait till you see inside but first there is entertainers to greet you
It’s fascinating watching the world go by from a train. Cusco is now a city of 700,000 people and spreads up the mountains. You wonder how they are coping with waste disposal and basics such as power and water supply.
Soon we are in the countryside. Let’s see what interesting sights there are to spot .
We will stop at the Chapel of la Raya for 10 minutes .The local ladies have set up some craft shops. Retail therapy, yay. We are at 4019 metres above sea level. Are you feeling okay.
The land in the highlands is definitely dryer.
No you aren’t bored. We’ve been to a fashion show and seen traditional dancing and soon it will be lunch.
Music and dance to see and later you can eat.
The dances are similar but each region has its own costumes and variations.
Lunch…potato soup and a beef dish.
One of the last town we went through had market stalls right up to the rail lines. If you want something, I am sure you would find it here. Some people were relaxing.
Off to the hotel . The fresh air is wonderful after being in the train. It’s raining. I hope the weather is better tomorrow as we are off to Lake Titicaca. See you at breakfast. Ps. It was closer to 11 hours.
